THE WHOLE ESSENCE OF GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER CELEBRATION 6TH OF APRIL 2012. 02:43PM NIG TIME
Welcome to another Easter celebration. this is a time to celebrate the death, resurrection of our Lord Jesus and the birth of a new creature. one that never existed before. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
There are two significant days in the life of a man. The day he was born and the day he dies. This seem to be the only day an average individual is free from gossip but the reverse was the case for our Lord Jesus. When he was born in Matthew chapter 2, A ruling King lost his sleep and sort to kill him. what sin has a new born baby committed that warrant death from a ruling king? He was carrying the new creature in his inside (GENERATIONS). little wonder the devil still moves around seeking his elect to devour. I pray for you today, that God will destroy the devourers for your sake in the name of Jesus.
Though He was God but he took the form of a man, left the Glory of heaven, came to this earth for the purpose of saving a man. The bible recorded in Philippians 2:8 that He humbled himself and became obedient to the death of the cross your your sake. little wonder the bible says "you were bought with a prize.( The blood of Jesus)
while he was on earth, he was known for his good did every where he went. there were times he set the captives free, heal the sick, cleanse the leapers, made blind eyes open, made the dumb speak, feed large numbers of people, raise the death, sat and dine with sinners, preached the Gospel and honor invitations. How else can a man be good to the eyes of men? Yet He was wounded for offenses he did not commit. take a minute and think on what it is to be beaten, wounded for another person's offenses? All these He did for you. When several allegations were placed on he said no word when he could have been able to defend himself; but he accepted it all for your sake.
Jesus was publicly disgraced because of you. Do you know what it is to build a good reputation for yourself and turn it down for the sake of a man. That man must be an important personnel. He was beaten in the presences of his fans, members, friends, relatives and enemies. what can be more disgraceful than this?
when he was hanged on the cross, the Bible recorded in the gospel according to Mark 15: 29-32 " that those who passed by hurled insult at him, shaking there heads and saying "look at the man who said he can destroy the temple and built it in 3days, come down and save yourself. even pastors and church leaders mocked at him. He is the one who can kill and make alive; he had the power to save himself at least for the fact that the people he was doing for ruin insults on him but He chose to remain on the cross because of you.
He was hanged on the cross around 3pm and was there till 9pm at night. imagine how horrible the sun would be by then.
When it was 6pm till 9pm, there was total darkness on the earth and Jesus felt alone for the first time. The Father (JEHOVAH) and the Holy Spirit could not behold the sins on Jesus anymore. Jesus was left alone on the cross for your sake and here, he cried out with a loud voice, MY FATHER, MY FATHER, WHY HAST THOU FORSAKING ME TO SUFFER THIS ALONE? It is because of that same sin you still commit 5minutes ago.
Ask yourself, Do i really worth the prize he paid for me, Am i living for his Glory?
if you are still enjoying and swimming in the ocean of sin, this article is a reminder of what you worth to Jesus. And what he did for you years ago.
If you were Jesus, will you be happy to see the one you died for still living as a slave to the reason why you died.or will you be happy with the way your friends, relatives, members are swimming in the ocean of sin that your blood was shared for?
My friends, Easter is not a time to go clubbing, partying or fornicating. its a time to sit, remember and meditate on the prize Jesus paid t save you from the power of hell years ago.
