IS THERE HOPE FOR NIGERIA?

This must be the question in the heart of so many Nigerians in and outside the country due to the recent happening in the country.

I will like to expose you to a brief history of this great country Nigeria to enable you give answer the above question.

Nigeria is a country blessed by God himself with several mineral resources. She is known to be a land flowing with milk and honey because of her impact in different countries of the world. Aside Nigeria been the giant of Africa, she is blessed with great men of God like Pastor E.A Adeboye, Pastor Chris Oyakhilomen, Prophet T.B. Joshua, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor Kumuyi, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Pastor Chris Oketie, Pastor David Abioye, Pastor Olukoya, Pastor Ayo Orisejafor and many more. It has a population of over 130 million with more than 250, 4000 dialects. Her size is 377335 miles that is two and half times the size of California with 36 state plus Abuja the Federal capital territory. She has the highest literacy rate in Africa.

After meditating on the above statement , the next question that will come to your mind is “what then is wrong with Nigeria?, Has God cursed and left Nigeria”?

My fellow citizens, Nigeria is still that blessed country you know and the recent happenings  is her days of trial. There is a need for us to encourage ourselves in the lord and keep on praying for the peace of God to reign in the land and that God should control the heart of our decision makers to make decisions that will move the nation forward.

You might feel God is too patient. Of course He is a patient God.

Remember God didn’t kill Herod when he was seeking to take the life of Jesus. He told Joseph to take the young child and the mother and escape to Egypt. He could have killed Herod instantly but he waited for many years until the death of Herod before telling Joseph to return the child to Nazareth. Matthew 2 vs 11- 21. This is to tell you that, even when those in authority are misbehaving, God can wait because it is not his will for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. Are you hoping that all this will be over one day? I have a good news for you from Romans 5 vs 5 which says ” …..And hope does not disappoint because God has poured out his love into our heart by the Holy Ghost whom he has giving to us” . So what do we do?

1.      Keep on praying

2.    Keep on  giving

3.    Keep on fasting

4.    Keep on speaking Gods word about Nigeria ( bless Nigeria with your mouth).

5.     Don’t give up telling somebody about Jesus until the Gospel of Jesus is spread abroad into the heart of our leaders.

The reason why our leaders are misbehaving is because there is something they don’t have which you have and that is “Jesus Christ in you”. Another thing you must note is that, the leaders of this country are citizen of this country and what ever they do is an expression of who the citizens are. So, if you want the leaders to change, you have to change as well because one day, you will grow up to that leadership position also. What becomes of you when you are there?

Even has the nation wide strike continues, let us live in peace with all men. See it as a time to pray more and tell somebody about Jesus more.

God has so many reasons why he cannot neglect Nigeria from the few I have listed above.

THERE IS HOPE FOR NIGERIA. Tell it to the world that Nigeria is a blessed Country.
